An antique edition of Manfield Park by Jane Austen from the late 19th century. Two books, volume 1 and volume 2 rebound together in beautiful green leather with gilt decoration on the backstrip. The book is from an antique set of Jane Austen novels edited by Reginald Brimley Johnson. Published by J M Dent, London, Sixth Edition. Copyright June 1897. The frontispiece is good. There is a very small light soil spot on the right margin of the title page. There are three black and white illustrations including the frontispiece. Chapter 1 has a decorative black and white chapter header. There is heavier foxing from page 99 - 102, this includes foxing on one illustration. The second illustration in volume 1 is good. The frontispiece illustration on volume 2 has heavier foxing and two small moisture spots and the title page has foxing. The first illustration of volume 2 is good. There is heavier foxing in volume 2 from pages 169 - 172. This also includes one foxing on one illustration. The outer edge of the pages are deckled. Size: 7 x 4.75".
