Iris Pallida or Pale Flag. well known to all botanical gardens at the time throughout Europe. The root is horizontal and very thick. The leaves are broad, forward shaped and have a glossy appearance. It was received by Clusius from Constantinople, but was believed to be native to Europe at the time. Culivated by Gerarde and was known in many nurseries at the time as Dalmatian Iris.
