A beautiful ornate copy of Arnold Hoogvliet's work from the mid-1700s. The book is full of detailed black and white full page illustrations throughou. The binding is cracked at the upper backstrip / cover connections, making the cover slightly fragile. There is bright gilt on the backstrip. There is marbling on the outer edge of the interior pages. There is a loose illustration enclosed (pictured). There is decorative partial page illustrations and the chapter headers and end. The print size (font) is large throughout. Nearly each new chapter has a full page illustration associated with it. Size: 8 x 6.25 x 1.15".

Een prachtig, rijkversierd exemplaar van Arnold Hoogvliets 
werk uit het midden van de 18e eeuw. Het boek staat vol met 
gedetailleerde zwart-wit illustraties op een hele pagina. 
De band is gebarsten bij de verbinding tussen de bovenste 
rugstrook en de kaft, waardoor de kaft enigszins kwetsbaar is. 
De rugstrook is voorzien van helder goud. De buitenrand van
 de binnenpagina's is gemarmerd. Er is een losse illustratie 
bijgevoegd (zie afbeelding). Er zijn decoratieve illustraties 
op gedeeltelijke pagina's en de hoofdstuktitels en het slot. 
Het lettertype is overal groot. Bijna elk nieuw hoofdstuk 
heeft een bijbehorende illustratie op een hele pagina.
