A beautiful French Faience whimsical Medailles D'or plate, Creil et Montereau L.M. & Cie plate, likely from the 19th century. The plate depicts a black transferware design with fantasy females living among the plants with "Violette" at the bottom. Signed Schillunbach. The plate has a firm crackle in the glaze. There is artistic detail on all sides of the rim. There are no chips or cracks. The maker mark is on the back. there is a black paint spot on the back near the right side. The plate is concave, not flat with a lightly scalloped edge. Plate diameter: 8.35".
