Egypt Illustrated with Pen and Pencil by Rev Samuel Manning. Partly rewritten by E P Thwing. Published by Hurst and Company. Copyright 1891. A large somewhat scarce edition profusely illustrated with full and partial page black and white illustration. The book has a few ex-libris stamps on the endpage and title page from the Santa Barbara Historical Society.  There is a soil spot on the upper edge of the cover. There is still gilt on the cover, though some is rubbed. The lower cover corner is slightly bumped. A blank pre-title page is very heavily tanned. The frontispiece illustration is fragile and nearly detached, hanging on by about 3". There is dark foxing on the tissue opposite the title page. There is gilt on the foredge. The pages are soft and mostly white with some light foxing. Size: 11.75", 199 pages.
