A beautiful edition of, “Half Hours in the Far East Among the People and Wonders of India with numerous illustrations”. From the Half Hours Library collection of Travel, Nature and Science for Young Readers. Copyright 1897. Published by James Nisbet & Co., London. Contents include Bombay, Poona, Colguam and Caves of Karli, Malabar Coast, Madras, Calcutta, Benares, Allahabad and Cawnpore, Lucknow, Agra, Delhi, and Among the Himalayas. The cover is a royal blue color cloth with bright gilt decoration. The backstrip cloth is somewhat faded to a more matte blue and the white decoration is lightly faded. There is a white spot on the lower backstrip as visible from the first picture. The back cover is good. The endpapers have a blue floral motif with a private collection sticker on the right endpaper. The pre-title pages are heavily foxed. There is a detailed illustration on the frontispiece. The interior pages are crisp / stiff and white with occasional foxing throughout. There is heavy foxing on the outer edge of the pages. The book is full of full and half-page black and white illustrations. Size: 7.5”, 345 pages.
