A decorative antique French cartonnage book, "Honorine" by L'Auteur D'Adhemar de Belcastel. Copyright 1842. Published by L. Lefort Imprimeur Libraire, Lille, France. French language. It is a small cartonnage style book with a dark cover with hints of blue or violet in the light. The gilt on the covers is bright. There is some darkening on the lower left corner of the cover. It is difficult to see the title on the backstrip. There is foxing on the endpapers and a French receipt is enclosed at the endpapers. There is moisture stain on the back of the frontispiece and the lower left corner. The tissue is enclosed. The book varies from areas of light to moderate foxing throughout. There is some light moisture stain in the upper corner from pages 37-117. Size: 5.75 x 3.5". 205 pages.
