An exquisite Italian ormolu trinket or jewelry box with red velvet interior. The box has a female portrait centered on the top that resembles the Virgin Mary. The box has a hinge that is solid and tight. The interior portrait appears to be a print, but could be an original. The faux ivory panel on the top appears to be beige cloth. The lid has ormolu fixtures in the four corners and the metal sides have varying levels of gilding. There is a blemish in the red velvet cloth near the front edge (pictured). There are green felt base footings applied. Size: 4x3.25x1.5"
