Phil and His Father by Ismay Thorn. Published around 1900 or before by Blackie and Son, London (no date). The cover is olive green with yellow undertones. The gilt on the cover is bright. The gilt and decoration on the backstrip is darkened. The endpapers are heavily tanned. The penned inscription on a pre-title page is dated 1899. There is light foxing on the title page. There is very heavy soiling and swipes on one page (pictured). The pages are mostly crisp and white with occasional light foxing or a creased upper corner. Size: 7.25", 159 pages.

This book currently has a light antique smell when opened with may dissipate with time. The book could be left open in a well ventilated area. It has been said if you leave a book open in direct sunlight for a limited period of time, this will resolve the issue as well.
