Satsuma Large Tripod Censer with Lid, 15.5"

A antique Satsuma incense burner unsigned. A large hand painted ceramic with beautiful handles and a lid with a foo dog on top. The item is ornately gilded and painted depicting scenes on both sides. There are rubbed areas on all sides including on the three footings, the handles, on the upper rim, on the foo dog. The base of the item is a white glaze without character markings. The inside glaze is clean and white. The items is free from chips, cracks or hairlines. Size: 15.5 T x 8.5" W. Date of origin is unknown. Provenance: Japan. Free U.S. shipping at checkout.

銘のないアンティーク薩摩焼香炉。美しい取っ手と、
蓋の上に狛犬が描かれた大きな手描き絵付けの陶器です。
両面に情景を描いた絵付けと金箔装飾が施されています。
三面の台座、取っ手、上縁、狛犬など、
すべての面に擦れが見られます。底面は白釉で、
文字は刻まれていません。内側の釉は白く、欠け、
ひび割れ、ヘアラインなどの目立った傷みはありません。
