The cover is an elaborate Victorian style with gilt flowers and green and red design. The color is slightly darker than pictured in home lighting. There is a rubbed area on the lower backstrip over the publisher name. There is a moisture line on the back cover at the spine connection that bubbled. The endpapers are blue and red decorated. The hinge is cracked at the Table of Contents, making the Title page and cover feel fragile and pulling away slightly from the bottom. The pages are somewhat still have moderate to heavy tanning throughout. There is a red decorative border on the pages. The outer edge of the pages are gilded. There are several black and white illustrations throughout. There is not many foxing spots. 667 pages.
