A vintage edition of Villette by Charlotte Bronte. Published with a beautiful rich purple cloth cover named the "Heather Edition" by publisher Allan Wingate, copyright 1949. The backstrip is faded to a lavender with pink undertones. There is soiling on the spine particularly on the upper and lower edges. There is a tear on the lower backstrip cloth. The both leans forward just slightly. There is moderate foxing on the right, white endpaper. There is foxing in the margin on the title page. The interior pages are crisp with mild to moderate tanning throughout. Size: 7.5 x 5.15". 558 pages.
